Noodle Got Tangled in the Fairy Lights and Looked Surprised
A loose strand of glowing white lights has wound itself around the little brown tabby kitten, and he looks up with huge, startled green eyes. His whiskers are fanned out, his paws are tucked under the wire, and a few tiny bulbs glow at the edge of his fluffy chest. The woven rug beneath him is warm in the sunlight, and a grey sofa and a plant stand blur gently behind him.
String lights are a real hazard for kittens. A chewed wire can cause an electric shock, and tangled cords can wrap around legs or necks. Always unplug lights when you're not watching, tuck cords out of reach, and consider using cord covers. If your kitten gets tangled, unplug the strand first, then free him gently, and call your vet if you think he chewed through any part of it.
Norwegian Forest Cat kittens are strong, agile climbers with thick, water-repellent coats. They come from cold climates and have a big, fluffy look even as youngsters. They're intelligent and playful, and they love to climb, so a tall cat tree is a great investment. Give him plenty of safe things to explore, and he'll be less likely to investigate the holiday lights.
We'll call him Noodle. He got a little tangled up, but he'd like it known that he is very much in charge of the situation.
