A Bichon Frise Dozes Off Next to His Scarecrow Friend
A fluffy white Bichon Frise has curled up on a porch bench and gone to sleep with his chin resting on the wood. Right beside him, a scarecrow in a red plaid shirt, patched jeans and a straw hat sits with a stitched smile and rosy cheeks, as though the two are old friends sharing a nap. Orange mums, small pumpkins and brown leaves surround them, and a gray house and a cloudy sky finish the autumn scene.
Bichon Frises are small, cheerful dogs known for a curly, cotton-like coat and a playful, affectionate personality. They are usually friendly and love being near people. That curly coat needs regular brushing and grooming to stay tangle-free, and many owners schedule regular trims. A short outdoor rest on a mild day is fine, but a small, white dog on a cool porch should always have a blanket and a person close by.
Scarecrows and straw decorations are an autumn classic. For dogs, though, loose straw and stuffing can be a chewing temptation, and swallowing it may cause trouble. It is best to place decorations so the dog cannot pull them apart. Mums are also a plant worth asking your vet about, since they can upset a pet's stomach if eaten.
We will call this sleepy fellow Puff. He is not worried about the scarecrow's watchful smile at all, and clearly trusts him with the porch. If the scarecrow is guarding the home, the nap is in very good hands.
