A Red Goldendoodle Wears Bat Wings and a Very Big Smile

A big curly grin, a pair of small black bat wings clipped to his back and a lot of happy energy: this red Goldendoodle is dressed for the night. He stands on the porch steps with his head tilted slightly and his tongue showing, and his copper curls blow a little in the breeze. Goldendoodles are a mix of Golden Retriever and Poodle, and they are known for being friendly, active and eager to please. Because they are a crossbreed, their size and coat can vary, so a curly coat may need regular brushing and trims to stay free of mats. Many love people and thrive on training, exercise and attention.

Costume wings like these are a good choice for a dog, as they leave the legs free. The harness or straps should fit comfortably and should not rub under the legs or pinch around the neck. If your dog bounces around, check that the wings do not catch on railings or decorations. On a busy night, a collar with up-to-date ID is a good idea, and the vet can help if your dog is nervous.

We will call him Batman, and he will not mind if you giggle. He seems to be having a wonderful time, and his smile is the best part of the costume. The porch looks haunted, but the bat in charge is the friendliest guest on the street.
