A Cream Kitten Blended Into the Fall Porch Display
A cream Exotic Shorthair kitten sits in a nest of gourds, small pumpkins, and oak leaves on a wooden deck. Her round face, short nose, and tiny ears make her look like a plush toy, and she gazes off to one side as though listening to something in the yard. A pot of orange mums, a wooden fence, and a patch of green grass fade into the soft background.
Exotic Shorthairs are sometimes described as the short-haired version of the Persian, with the same rounded face and sweet, laid-back nature but a coat that is easier to maintain. They often enjoy being near their people and are generally quiet and gentle. Fall decorations on the porch deserve a safety check, because decorative gourds are not meant to be eaten, mums are toxic to cats if chewed, and leaves can hide mold or insects. If your kitten goes out on a porch, keep her on a leash or in a safe enclosure, and watch her closely. Flat-faced breeds can also be more sensitive to heat and humidity, so autumn's mild weather is a nice time to enjoy time outside.
The warm colors of pumpkins and leaves make a good backdrop for a pale cream coat.
She seems to belong among the gourds as if she grew there, soft as a cloud among the squash.
