The Husky Wanted a Better View of the Street. The Window Blinds Paid the Price.
Someone wanted a better view of the street, and the blinds paid the price. A black and white Siberian Husky sits by the window with several white slats bent, cracked, and draped around its neck and shoulders like a strange necklace. The cords dangle loosely, and more broken slats hang crookedly above its head. The dog's soft brown eyes look upward with an innocent, pleading expression, ears relaxed, as if asking for help rather than forgiveness. Behind it, a beige couch with a knit blanket, a potted plant, and a few scattered clothes on the floor complete the scene.
Huskies are known for being energetic, friendly, and famously curious. Bred to pull sleds over long distances, they need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation, and a bored husky can become very creative. Many love to watch the world go by, which is why window blinds often suffer. Blind cords can also be a real hazard for pets and young children, since they can become wrapped around a neck. Cordless blinds or cord cleats that keep strings high and out of reach are a smart safety upgrade, and leaving a clear window spot gives a dog a place to look out safely.
Despite the damage, this husky clearly had one goal: keeping an eye on the neighborhood. Mission accomplished. Now somebody just needs to untangle the lookout and maybe consider curtains.
