A Boston Terrier Stood Proudly on a Bookshelf That Had Just Fallen
A brindle and white Boston Terrier stands in the middle of a toppled bookshelf, front paws on the wood, with paperbacks spread around him like fallen leaves. His ears are tall and pointed, his dark eyes are cast to the side, and his little white chest is puffed. He avoids looking at the camera, as if the books had fallen by themselves.
Behind him, a gray couch sits under a soft throw, with a plant by the window, a blue blanket tossed over the cushion, and a mug on a side table. Soft daylight fills the room. We'll call him Dewey, after the book classification. He has clearly been exploring a section he wasn't supposed to visit.
Boston Terriers are lively, friendly, and a little comical, often called the American Gentleman for their tuxedo markings. They are playful and curious, and they can be surprisingly athletic for their size. Because they are small and energetic, bookshelves and unsecured furniture can be a safety concern, so anchoring heavy shelves to the wall is a smart idea for homes with pets and children. If a shelf falls, check your dog carefully for injuries, and call your vet if he limps, yelps, or seems unwell. Boston Terriers also have short noses, so they can overheat easily, and they enjoy plenty of short play sessions and puzzle toys to keep busy.
Dewey stays still on the books, tall and proud, hoping nobody checks which shelf he came from.
