A Calico Looks Away With Peanut Butter Smeared on Her Nose
The jar has a deep scoop out of the middle, and the calico beside it has peanut butter on her nose and cheek. Her face is turned away, her orange, white, and brown fur glows in the kitchen light, and her golden eyes seem to be looking at something very important in the distance. A folded towel and a cutting board sit on the counter behind her, and she appears to be wondering if the smear on her nose is visible.
Peanut butter is sticky and strongly scented, which makes it interesting to many pets. For cats, a small lick is not usually a problem, but it is high in fat and has little to offer them. It can also stick to the roof of the mouth, which cats do not like, so they often make funny faces. Check the label for xylitol, a sweetener that is toxic to pets, and call your vet right away if your cat eats any. Calico cats are named for their coat color, not for being a breed, and they tend to be described as spirited and independent. Wipe her nose with a damp cloth and keep the jar on a high shelf.
She is acting as if nothing has happened, and the peanut butter on her nose says otherwise. The jar is in need of a lid, and she is in need of a wash.
