One Boxer Puppy, One Empty Pizza Box, and a Very Small Smile
The pizza box is open and empty, and a floppy-eared fawn Boxer puppy sits right in the middle of it with a tiny smile, as if the box were a new bed delivered just for him. One ear flips forward, the other lies back, and a dark mask frames big, soft eyes. Crumbs dot the cardboard. In the background, toys and a pair of small shoes mark the family living room, and a sunny window glows past the couch.
Boxer puppies are bouncy, goofy, and endlessly curious, and they explore the world through their mouths. Strong smells like pizza are tough to resist, and rich, greasy food can upset a dog's stomach. Onions and garlic, common in pizza sauce and toppings, are unsafe for dogs. Keep boxes and leftovers off tables and counters, and take trash out promptly. If a puppy gets into something like this, call your vet to ask what to watch for. Puppies this age also need lots of short play sessions, training, and safe chews to keep their busy minds out of the takeout.
For the moment, the puppy sits in the box with the satisfied air of a job well done. The pizza is gone, the crumbs are plenty, and the puppy is, quite honestly, adorable about the whole thing. Nobody ever stayed upset with a face like that for very long.
