The Saint Bernard Found the Softest Bed in the Whole House

Pink petals and green leaves cover the floor like the aftermath of a very small parade, and right in the center lies a huge red and white Saint Bernard, front paws stretched out, head turned politely away. The dog is looking at the wall, the window, anywhere but the camera. A few crumpled tissues and a basket of shoes sit in the background, and the fresh spring flowers have clearly not survived the visit.

Saint Bernards are gentle giants, known for a calm, patient nature and a deep love of their families. They are also very large dogs, which means a casual flop onto the floor can flatten quite a bit. Many common flowers and plants, including tulips and lilies, can upset a pet's stomach or be more serious, tulip bulbs especially, so it is smart to keep bouquets and potted bulbs well out of reach. If your dog chews any plant, call your vet or a pet poison hotline for guidance. Giant breeds also do best with plenty of space and a cool, comfortable resting spot.

For now, the Saint Bernard looks completely at peace with the situation, in the way only a very large dog can be. The tulips, sadly, were the price of that comfy bed, and the vase will need a better shelf next time. At least the floor has never looked so colorful.
