The Yorkie Pulled Down the Curtain and Wore It Like a Cape
The blue and tan Yorkie sits upright in a ragged beige curtain, draped around his shoulders like a cloak. The edges are frayed, the fabric hangs in long strips, and his small face, with tan eyebrows and a silky topknot, peeks out with a guilty, wide-eyed look. A sofa sits quietly behind him, and the floor around him is scattered with dust and a few fibers.
Yorkshire Terriers are small dogs with a big, bold spirit, and they love getting into anything that moves or hangs within reach. Curtains swing and flutter, which is almost irresistible to a young terrier. Dogs can also get tangled in cords or hanging fabric, so keep blind cords out of reach and watch dogs near drapes. If a dog swallows fabric threads, they can cause blockages, so call your vet if you notice anything unusual. Some exercise and a good tug toy can give the energy a better outlet.
We will call him Duke. He seems to be wearing his new cape with great seriousness, as if he had been appointed to a royal position. The cape has plainly seen better days, and so have the window and the rod. Even so, the little knight looks calm, a bit proud, and quite sure someone will love him anyway. The window now has a clear view of the street, which Duke can finally enjoy from the best seat in the house.
