The Curtain Looked Fine Until an Abyssinian Wore It Like a Cape
Wrapped in a torn linen curtain like a tiny explorer in a shawl, a ruddy Abyssinian cat gazes upward. The edges are frayed, loose threads trail across the floor, and her big, pointed ears stand tall above the fabric. Her golden-green eyes are wide and hopeful, and her sleek, warm brown coat has the fine ticking that makes the breed so distinctive. A plant and a basket sit behind her, quietly watching the whole thing unfold.
Abyssinians are active, curious, and intelligent cats who love climbing and exploring. They are often described as busy and people-oriented, and they do best with plenty of toys, tall perches, and interactive play. A cat like this may climb curtains simply because it gives her a high view or an interesting texture to pull. Providing a tall cat tree near a window can give that climbing urge a better home. Dangling cords and loose threads can be hazardous, so keep window cords out of reach and talk to your vet if your cat swallows any thread or string.
For now she is the picture of innocence, curtain and all. She may have only wanted to see out the window a little better, and the fabric happened to come along for the ride. Her hopeful look suggests she is ready for a game of chase to make up for it.
