A Scottish Fold Freezes Beside the Broken Vase and the Roses
The vase hit the floor with a crash, and the Scottish Fold has not moved since. Pieces of white ceramic lie scattered across the floorboards, along with water and a handful of pink roses and loose petals. The gray cat stands frozen with round green-gold eyes the size of saucers and one paw slightly raised, as if he is not sure whether to run or confess.
Scottish Folds have small ears that fold forward, round faces and a sweet, easygoing nature. They are known to be affectionate and a bit quiet, although they enjoy a good game too. Cats knock things off tables for several reasons: curiosity, boredom, or a desire for attention. It also gives them an instant reaction from their person.
Broken ceramic is sharp, so keep your pet away from the area and sweep carefully. Check paws for small cuts afterward, and call your vet if you see bleeding or limping. Some flowers, especially lilies, are dangerous for cats, even in small amounts, so it is best to choose pet-safe flowers or keep bouquets out of reach.
The cat looks about as shocked as anyone. He seems to be thinking that the vase had it coming. The roses are scattered like a trail of petals, and he is staying exactly where he is until someone speaks first.
