The Abyssinian Grabbed the Bun and Froze Right Where She Stood
A hot dog bun hangs from the mouth of the cinnamon Abyssinian, who stands on a blue cushion with her eyes as wide as they can go. Her big ears point forward, her whiskers fan out and her paws are planted firmly as if she is ready to bolt. Crumbs lie around her, and a gray towel hangs over a chair behind her.
Abyssinians are active, curious cats with a short, ticked coat and a slim, athletic build. They are often described as playful and intelligent, and they love to climb and explore. Cats like this can be quick, clever food thieves, able to lift a bun off a counter and make a run for it before anyone notices.
Bread is generally not harmful to cats in small bites, but it has no real nutritional value for them, and buns can contain seasonings or ingredients that are not safe. Cats need a diet based on meat, so it is best to keep human food out of reach. If your cat eats something that worries you, talk to your vet.
The Abyssinian looks surprised to be seen. She has her prize, and she is trying to work out the next move. Whatever happens, she has a very firm grip on the bun and does not plan to let go. Abyssinians are quick on their feet, so the chase would not be a short one. For now, the bun is hers, and the crumbs on the cushion are the only clue left behind.
