A White Longhair Is Tangled in the Curtain She Brought Down
The curtain has come down, and the white longhair has become part of it. Cream fabric drapes around her shoulders and trails across the floor, frayed at the edges and torn in several places. Her long white fur peeks out from the folds, her green eyes look up with a sheepish expression and her ears tilt slightly back.
Cats love to climb curtains. They offer a good vantage point, the fabric is fun to grab and a sunny window is a great place to watch birds. Norwegian Forest Cats are particularly good climbers, with strong claws and thick, water-resistant coats that were built for rough, rocky terrain in a cold climate.
Climbing curtains can damage them and can also be risky for the cat, since a falling rod or tangled fabric can cause injury. Offer a tall cat tree near the window, so she can have a safe high perch with a good view. Keep curtain cords out of reach, and check her over if a fall happens, calling your vet if anything seems wrong.
This cat looks a little embarrassed, but not too bothered. She is wrapped in a cozy blanket of her own making, and the room is brighter now that the curtain is down. She may need a gentle rescue, though she does not seem to be in a hurry.
