A Maine Coon Is Sitting in the Middle of a Feather Blizzard
Feathers drift through the air like snow, and in the center of the storm sits a Maine Coon with astonished eyes, perched on what remains of a white pillow. His brown tabby fur is thick and tufted, his ears carry fine lynx-like tips, and his face has a stunned, frozen expression.
Sunlight comes through lace curtains onto a cluttered room: a pile of clothes on the bed, a mug on a shelf, a green plant, and a ball of yarn on the floor. Feathers are stuck to the floorboards and floating in every beam of light, proof of a great deal of enthusiasm.
Maine Coons are among the largest domestic cats, known for their friendly, easygoing nature and their shaggy coats. They are also very playful, even as adults, and can have powerful paws and claws. A pillow is the perfect size for kicking and wrestling, so it is no surprise it did not survive. Feather stuffing is not meant to be eaten, so clean up carefully and watch for chewing. To meet the need to wrestle, give your cat a large sturdy toy, a kicker, or a plush that is built for rough play, and talk to your vet if your cat is swallowing stuffing.
The great fluffy cat looks like he is just as surprised as anyone. A quiet afternoon turned snowy fast.
