A Grumpy Grey Lord Rests His Paw on the Whole World
He has rested a paw on the world, and he does not look impressed. A grey Exotic Shorthair with a flat, round face and big copper-orange eyes gazes out with a serious, slightly grumpy expression. A thick white ermine collar rests on his shoulders over a pink silk coat embroidered with gold flowers and shells, and one grey paw lies lightly on an antique globe on a wooden stand. Behind him, pastel drapery and flowers create a soft, creamy pink setting.
The painter has captured the plush texture of his cheeks and the thick velvet of his fur. His face is the star of the portrait, the sort of face that suggests he has opinions about every country on the globe.
Exotic Shorthairs are quiet, easygoing cats with a plush coat and a sweet nature. They enjoy lounging and often follow their people from room to room. Their flat faces can lead to tear staining and breathing sensitivity, so gentle face cleaning and cool surroundings are helpful, and your vet can show you how to care for their eyes. Brushing a couple of times a week keeps their coat tidy. They can gain weight easily, so measured meals and gentle play are a good plan.
If the lord decides to travel the world, he will do it from the comfort of a soft chair, and the world will have to come to him.
