The Frenchie Cavalry Officer Was Ready to Charge, After a Nap
A great sweep of black feathers rises from a bronze helmet, and below it a brindle French Bulldog looks out with big, serious eyes. His coat is red velvet trimmed with gold braid and tassels, with a dark blue sash crossing his chest. The large bat ears peek out from under the helmet, and his wrinkled face looks very determined. The deep brown background and glowing amber light behind him give the whole portrait an old battlefield feel. His small paws are out of sight, but you can almost picture them stamping impatiently.
French Bulldogs are charming, affectionate companions, but their flat faces need special care. They can struggle in heat, so keep them indoors during hot days, offer cool water, and avoid heavy exercise. Many snore, snort, or pant loudly, and trouble breathing is a reason to talk to your vet. Frenchies are also prone to skin infections in their facial wrinkles, so gentle cleaning helps. They are usually playful and love being near their people, and a few short walks a day fit them better than long runs.
The officer is dressed for battle, but we suspect his greatest challenge is a stubborn squeaky toy. Still, he looks ready to charge forward, as long as there is a short rest first. A brave heart is clearly hiding under all that velvet and gold.
