Chocolate Puppies Hung Over the Playpen Rail Looking for a Way Out
A row of chocolate puppies hang their paws over the top rail of a mesh playpen, ears drooping and eyes focused on the wide world outside. The living room behind them holds a couch, a lamp, and a few scattered items, all of which look much more exciting from where they are standing. Several small paws grip the rail at once.
A playpen is useful for keeping puppies safe while their people are busy. It gives them a defined space with water, a bed, and chew toys, and it keeps them out of trouble. It should not become a place where a puppy spends the whole day, because puppies also need exercise, social time, and training, and your vet can advise how long is right for her age.
When puppies climb the sides, it usually means they are bored or want company. Try giving them a fresh toy, spend time playing before pen time, or move the pen to a spot where they can see the family. The Havanese is a social breed that tends to dislike isolation, so keeping the pen in the main room can help.
Whatever the plan is, it does not seem to have a clear leader. A row of puppies hanging over the same rail make a funny picture, and nobody has quite managed to get over it yet. Escape may not be possible, but the attempt is certainly adorable.
