Three Puppies Sat Politely at a Full Bowl and Waited for the Signal
A big ceramic bowl is full of kibble, and three chocolate puppies sit right behind it with their eyes fixed on the prize. Their curly coats are the color of dark cocoa, with eyebrows slightly raised, and a bit of white shows on one chin. Behind them a sunny room holds a laundry basket, a pair of sandals, and a rope toy, but nobody is looking at any of it.
Feeding time is a big event in a puppy's day. Most young dogs eat three or four small meals daily, and the portion depends on age, size, and food type, so your vet can help you plan. The Havanese is a small breed, and small dogs can gain weight quickly if overfed, so measuring meals and keeping treats modest is a healthy habit.
When several puppies share a bowl, there can be quick eaters who take more than their share. Separate bowls reduce competition and let you watch each puppy's appetite. Teaching a simple sit before the bowl goes down also builds manners, and many Havanese are happy to learn it for the reward of dinner.
These three are being patient, in the way puppies are patient, with big eyes and a tiny tremble of excitement. Within seconds, the quiet will end, and the sound of crunching will fill the room. But for this one frame, three small dogs show restraint.
