Five Saint Bernard Puppies Lined Up at the Edge of the Bed
A row of Saint Bernard puppies lines up along the edge of a gray bed, chins resting on the sheet and eyes turned toward the camera. Some of them are wide awake, a few look sleepy, and two at the back peek over their friends. Behind them, a wooden dresser, a window with a white curtain, and a stack of folded blankets complete the room.
Puppies peering over a bed are saying that they would like to join in. Dogs are social, and they like to be near their people. The only caution is the height, because young puppies jumping off a high bed can hurt their joints, especially large-breed pups. A step or ramp can help, and a bed of their own nearby gives them a cozy option.
Saint Bernards are famously gentle and affectionate. They usually do best in homes where they are part of the family. Early training, patience, and plenty of company help them grow into calm adults. Their size means that rules about furniture are worth setting early, while the puppies are still small.
The whole row looks full of hope. Somebody is about to get a very warm welcome. Whoever walks through the door will find five round faces waiting, and probably a few wagging tails out of sight beyond the mattress. It is a warm welcome.
