Two Curly Pups Climbed Into Rain Boots and Looked Out

AI imagehavanesechocolaterain boots

Two curly chocolate Havanese puppies have each chosen a rain boot and settled into it, their heads sticking out of the tops like tiny flowers in vases. One boot is olive green and the other navy, and more boots in yellow, gray and pink wait in line beside them. A bench stacked with shoes and bags is in the background, and light from the open door spills across the floor.

A mudroom is a natural hangout for a dog, with all those interesting smells of outdoor adventures. For puppies, though, it is also a place where trouble can start. Shoes, boots and laces are tempting chew targets, and small objects like buttons or loose laces can be dangerous if swallowed. Keep footwear on a high shelf, or give your pup its own chew toys, to avoid problems.

Havanese are social, and these two are enjoying each other's company as they watch the world. The breed is often described as friendly and playful, and puppies like these often become fast friends with whoever they live with, both people and other pets. Early introductions to different sounds, floors and objects help puppies grow up relaxed.

The boots may be a little too large for them now, but they will grow into it eventually. Until then, they make wonderful lookout towers. Their tails are probably wagging down inside the boots, where nobody can see, and neither one seems the least bit worried about getting stuck.
