Two Saint Bernard Puppies Claimed the Whole White Bed
On a bed with a crisp white spread, two red and white Saint Bernard puppies are nose to cheek, one gazing sideways with big, dark-ringed eyes while the other rests its head on a paw. Their velvety brown ears drape down like curtains, and their white chests glow in the light that pours through the window. Behind them a basket, a plant and a bedside table complete a cozy room.
Allowing a puppy on the bed is a personal choice, but with a giant breed it is worth thinking ahead. A Saint Bernard puppy who is a few pounds now may weigh well over a hundred pounds as an adult, and a dog that size can find it hard to jump on and off furniture safely. Many owners teach the rules early and give the dog a big, comfortable bed of its own.
Saint Bernards are known for being calm, affectionate and patient. They love being with their people and often lean against them, which is as close to a hug as a big dog can give. This friendly nature makes them popular family dogs, though training and gentle socialization from a young age help them become polite adults.
For these two, the question of rules is a long way off. At the moment they are small, warm and comfortable, and the whole bed is theirs to enjoy.
