Five Saint Bernard Puppies Found One Rope and Shared Nicely
Five red and white Saint Bernard puppies have crowded around a single long rope, and each one has found a spot to chew. Two are gripping it with their teeth, one is lying across it, one has a paw on top and another looks up as if wondering who started this game. The floor is dusty, a pair of slippers sits in the corner and a blue bowl waits nearby.
Chewing on a rope toy can be soothing for a teething puppy, and it is a good outlet for chewing urges. Choose a rope that is the right size for a large-breed puppy, and check it often for loose strands, because swallowed fibers can cause trouble. If a toy starts to fall apart, replace it. Always supervise play when several puppies share a toy.
Sharing toys can sometimes cause squabbles, so having several toys around helps. Saint Bernard puppies are usually gentle with each other, but it is still wise to watch for signs that one puppy is being left out or bullied. Your vet or a trainer can help if play gets too rough or if a puppy guards its toys.
For now there are no arguments. Five pups, one rope and a lot of happy chewing make an excellent afternoon. The rope has grown tangled around a few paws by now, which only makes the game better, and a few playful growls rise above the happy sounds of chewing.
