Four Sleepy Puppies Found the Sunniest Patch of the Quilt
Warm light falls across a patchwork quilt, and four white puppies are asleep on it. Two lie curled at the top with their faces tucked low, and two more rest in front with chins down and eyes closed. The quilt's blue, pink, and cream squares set off their snowy fur. At the edge of the room, a basket, a wooden floor, and a sunny corner make it a quiet, homey picture.
Quilts are cozy for naps, and patchwork can be washed easily. For a litter of small puppies, a clean quilt on the floor gives soft footing and comfort. Check for loose threads or buttons, though, since chewing puppies can swallow bits of fabric. Wash the quilt often, because little puppies tend to have accidents. If you are not sure whether a fabric is safe, ask your vet.
Maltese puppies are sleepy babies. They grow quickly, and short bursts of play are followed by deep naps. A warm, quiet spot helps them rest, and a sunbeam is a very nice bonus, as long as they can move into the shade if they get warm. Wash the quilt weekly, and let each puppy wake naturally. A soft blanket nearby for chilly mornings is always a good idea.
Four sleeping pups and one beautiful quilt. It is a very sweet scene for a lazy afternoon.
