Five Lemon and White Beagle Puppies Disappeared Into a Woolly Rug
A thick, woolly sheepskin rug has become a bed for five sleeping lemon and white Beagle puppies. They lie in a loose pile, their pale coats blending with the cream wool, their eyelids shut and their mouths slightly open. A few have rested a head on a sibling's back, and one lies on her side with her paws curled up. Behind them, a basket of folded blankets sits on a wooden floor in a calm, warm room.
When a litter sleeps in a heap, it is a sign of comfort. Puppies depend on warmth from littermates early in life, and many keep the habit even after they are weaned. As they get older, Beagles are famous for their love of company, which is also why many do not like to be left alone for too long. Make sure puppies have a safe, soft place to nap, and wash the bedding regularly. If you notice them panting or restless, they may be too warm.
Beagles also tend to have a good appetite and love snacks, so keep bedding clear of dropped food or treats.
The rug is soft, the room is quiet and every little breath is perfectly in time. The sheepskin will be a little flattened afterward, but five puppies will go away much more rested than they arrived. It is the sort of small, quiet scene that makes an ordinary day feel a little brighter.
