A Beagle Puppy Sat in the Bike Basket and Spotted Something Interesting
A red and white Beagle puppy sits in a woven bicycle basket, his chest white and his ears long and soft, glancing off to one side as though something has caught his attention. He looks comfortable in his seat, with his paws tucked under him and his collar neat around his neck. The front wheel and handlebar of the bike curve behind him, and in the hallway beyond are a few pairs of shoes and a patch of light.
A basket on a parked bike can be a fun, safe place for a puppy to pose, but not to ride. Moving bikes are risky for dogs, since a sudden stop or a jump can cause serious injury. If you want to cycle with a dog, wait until he is fully grown, ask your vet whether it suits him, and use a proper trailer. Beagles can cover a lot of ground on foot, and walks are the best way to let them enjoy the scents of the neighborhood.
Beagles love adventure, and they have the stamina to match. A well-fitted harness is a good idea, since their noses can pull them in many directions.
For now, the bike stays put and the puppy enjoys the view from his basket. He seems to be saving the best of his curiosity for the moment when someone finally lifts him out and sets him on the ground.
