A Pile of Beagle Puppies Fell Asleep Under the Christmas Tree
Beneath the sparkling branches of a Christmas tree, a group of tricolor Beagle puppies has fallen asleep on a cream blanket. Their sleek black, tan and white coats are lined up in a soft pile, ears relaxed, eyes closed, little paws hanging in all directions. Pinecones and a string of beads decorate the tree above them, and a warm lamp glows in the corner. It is a quiet holiday scene that needs no decorations beyond the sleepers.
Holiday trees are full of temptations for curious puppies. Ornaments, tinsel and ribbon are tempting to chew and dangerous if swallowed, and electrical cords can cause burns. Tree water can contain additives, and pine needles can upset the stomach, so block access to the stand. Anchor the tree so a bold Beagle cannot tip it. Beagles are especially food-driven, so keep holiday treats like chocolate, raisins and rich leftovers out of reach, and talk to your vet if your puppy gets into something.
Giving puppies their own toys and a cozy place of their own helps them stay out of trouble during busy holiday gatherings.
For now, the only gifts under the tree are the ones breathing softly on the blanket. Outside the window the world may be cold and busy, but in this corner everything is still, warm and perfectly peaceful. It is a gentle reminder that the best entertainment is often the simplest.
