The Wheelbarrow Was Meant for Hay. Today It's Carrying Something Better.
The old metal wheelbarrow was meant for hauling hay, but today it is carrying something far more precious. A shaggy cream dog with soft, curly fur and gentle brown eyes sits squeezed into one side, while a snowy white baby goat with tiny horn buds and upright ears tucks in right beside it. A few strands of hay poke out around their feet. The wheelbarrow has been parked inside near the doorway, where a pair of black boots, a hanging gray jacket, slippers and a basket of laundry hint at a busy farmhouse entry.
Baby goats are curious and love climbing into containers, boxes and anything with sides, so a wheelbarrow is practically an invitation. Keep in mind that wheelbarrows can tip easily when a passenger shifts, which can startle or hurt a small animal, so it is best to keep a hand on the handles or set it on level ground. The hay is a nice touch, since goats are browsers and like to nibble at roughage throughout the day. If your dog shares space with livestock, regular parasite prevention and vet checkups for both animals help keep everyone healthy, since some parasites can pass between species.
There may be chores to finish and hay to move later. For now, this wheelbarrow is officially out of service and doubling as the cutest seat in the house.
