A Black Cat and an Old Tortoise Found the Fluffiest Bed in the House
The round, plush bed is a cloud of cream fluff, and two unlikely guests are settled right in the middle. A black Devon Rex with big ears and a slim face is curled on the right, her golden eyes looking out with a calm, regal expression. Moss the tortoise rests on the left with his chin down and his shell patterned in browns and tans. A houseplant, a gray blanket and a white wall behind them make a snug scene.
Devon Rex cats have thin, wavy coats and tend to feel the cold, so they are always looking for the warmest spot in the house. A fluffy bed like this is perfect for them. Tortoises, too, love warmth, but they need a proper basking area with the right heat and light, so the bed is just for a short visit. Many tortoises do well with a consistent routine, a safe place to hide and a varied diet of leafy greens. Ask your vet about the best setup for your particular species, and always supervise time with other pets.
The Devon Rex has made herself at home, and Moss seems happy to share. They are a perfectly matched pair, one quick and one slow, but both love comfort. The bed is soft, and the afternoon is long. If anyone tiptoes into the room, they will find a sleepy cat, a steady tortoise and one very satisfied bed.
