Two Sleepy Faces Rested Their Chins on the Garden Bed Edge
Chins on the wooden edge, two faces peer out over a garden bed like neighbors leaning on a fence. On the left, a fluffy blue point Siamese with pale grey fur and a slate mask gazes forward with half-closed blue eyes. Right beside her, a brown puppy with a soft forehead and warm eyes rests his face on the same board, looking just as sleepy and content. Behind them are small green sprouts, a few weeds, a path of pale stones and a flowerpot half out of frame. The late light is gentle, and everything about them looks relaxed.
Siamese cats are known for their blue eyes and pointed coloring, a pattern that comes from a temperature-sensitive gene. Colder parts of the body, like the face, ears, paws and tail, are darker. They are social, vocal and often form strong bonds with people and other pets. Garden beds are great places for pets to explore, but make sure the plants are safe, because many common garden plants and bulbs can be harmful. Mulch and fertilizer can also be risky if eaten. If you are unsure about a plant, ask your vet before letting pets sniff or chew.
Whatever is growing in that bed, the two of them have decided that watching it is the best way to spend the afternoon.
