A cinnamon Abyssinian cat sleeps beside a cream puppy curled up in a wicker basket full of soft cream towels. 38 / 40

The Fresh Towels Never Got Folded. Two Sleepers Moved In Instead.

Fresh from the dryer, a pile of towels has become the coziest bed in the house. In a round wicker basket, a cinnamon Abyssinian curls with her eyes closed and her whiskers relaxed, her big ears folded softly aside. In front of her, a cream puppy has tucked himself into a perfect C shape, his nose resting on a towel and one paw curled under his chin. The folds of the cloth rise around them, and a pale grey wall and wooden cabinet make up a quiet background. Neither of them has moved a muscle since they settled in.

Warm laundry is one of the best discoveries for a cat or puppy, since it holds heat and carries the comforting smell of home. A basket of clean towels can make a nice nap spot, but check that nothing is hiding in the pile, such as pins or small objects, and keep fabric softener sheets out of reach. Abyssinians are active cats who also love a good warm rest after their play. If your pets enjoy a soft basket, wash the bedding regularly and replace it when it wears thin.

The laundry may never get folded today, but nobody seems to be worried about that. A warm pile of towels is much better with two friends in it. The room is quiet, and the warmth lasts a long time.
