A Yorkie and a Bunny Found the Best Leaf Pile in the House
A drift of crisp, orange autumn leaves has made it indoors, and two friends are enjoying the crunch. A blue-and-tan Yorkshire Terrier with bright, lively eyes and ears tilted forward is leaning into the leaves, while a small brown bunny sits calmly beside him with her ears upright. A sofa, a potted plant and a pale sunlit wall make up the cozy room around them.
Yorkshire Terriers are tiny dogs with big attitudes. They are intelligent, brave and playful, and they thrive on attention. The silky coat needs daily brushing to prevent tangles, and many owners keep it trimmed short for easier care. Yorkies are small enough to be hurt easily, so they should be supervised around larger animals.
Fall leaves are fun, but they come with a few cautions for pets. Dry leaves can hide sharp sticks, burrs and mold, and some fallen items such as acorns and mushrooms are toxic to dogs. Rabbits should not be allowed to nibble leaves from unknown trees, as some are harmful. If you bring leaves inside for photos or play, check them over first.
The crunch is loud and the colors are bright, and the bunny, Pip, looks happy to take it all in. Her tiny terrier friend seems just as pleased. Autumn indoors turns out to be pretty nice. Even the sofa seems to be enjoying the show.
