A Basket of Warm Towels Turned Into a Nest for a Havanese and a Small Horse
Nobody folded the towels today. A wicker basket sits in a sunlit room, piled with soft cream towels, and two friends have nestled right in. A black and white Havanese lies with his fluffy face resting on the edge, his dark eyes wide open and curious. Beside him, a small chestnut horse sleeps with his eyes closed and his head on the towels. A window with white curtains lets in a soft glow. The Havanese is Teddy again and the horse is Copper. The laundry is warm and smells of fresh air, and the room is quiet.
Havanese are friendly, cheerful dogs from Cuba, famous for their silky coats and bouncy walks. They are social and love being with their family, and they thrive on attention and companionship. Their long coats need regular brushing, especially after they have been in a laundry basket. They are often called velcro dogs because they like to stay close to their people.
Dogs often love sleeping on clean laundry because it smells like their people. If your dog likes this, make sure there are no small items, like socks or buttons, hiding in the pile. Washable bedding helps keep things clean, and a dog bed with a soft blanket gives your pet a cozy alternative.
Teddy is wide awake and Copper is sound asleep. It is a sweet end to a quiet day. The towels may never get folded, and that suits both of them just fine.
