A Birman Cat Posed Under the Halloween Garland Like a Queen
Above her head runs a garland of paper pumpkins and black bats, and below it a seal point Birman sits tall with her head tilted up. Her blue eyes are focused on something in the distance, her cream coat and chocolate face glow in the late sun and her white gloves rest neatly on the rug. A plant, a cushion and a pumpkin on the table all add to the cozy fall room.
Birmans are long-haired cats with striking blue eyes and white 'gloved' paws, and they are known for being gentle, social and quietly affectionate. Paper garlands are a lovely Halloween touch, but they can be a temptation for a cat who loves to bat and chew dangling things. Strings and paper bits can be swallowed, so hang decorations high or out of reach, and take them down if your cat shows interest in them. Offer a feather wand or a ball of crumpled paper as a safe alternative to play with. Cats also appreciate a calm routine during a busy holiday week, with the same feeding times and a quiet resting place.
The bats are paper and the pumpkins are flat, but the cat beneath them is delightfully real. She looks like she is posing for a holiday portrait, and she is doing it with all the grace of a queen.
