A Tiny Black Kitten Studies the Entrance to the Hay Maze

AI imagedevon rexhay mazehalloween

A little black kitten with tight, wavy fur sits just in front of a hay bale tunnel, and she seems to be sizing it up. Her enormous ears stand straight up, her green-gold eyes look toward the camera and her paws are planted on the dirt and straw. The hay bales form a low archway beside a house with a dark blue door, and a small pumpkin and fallen leaves sit at the corner.

Devon Rex cats are known for their curly coat and big, lively ears. They tend to be playful, social and curious, and many love to climb and investigate. Because their coat is fine and thin, they feel the cold more than many other cats and may want a warm spot after an outdoor visit, and a vet can help with skin care questions.

Hay is a fun thing to explore, but kittens should not eat it, and dusty straw can be irritating. Outdoor decorations such as hay bale mazes are best used with supervision, and a kitten should be kept on a leash or in a secure area so a sudden dash does not become a disappearing act. A quick check afterward for stray straw in the fur is a good habit.

We will call her Inky. She is studying the entrance with the careful look of a cat who has not been fooled before. A dark little shape at the mouth of the tunnel might be the best haunting of the night.
