A Fluffy Orange Kitten Rules the Yard as a Pocket-Sized Lion

AI imageorange kittenlion costumehalloween yard

A ruff of fluffy golden fur surrounds the face of a tiny orange longhair kitten, and with her big green eyes and tilted head, she looks like a very small lion cub. She stands on a patch of grass covered with brown leaves, and behind her a porch and a row of pumpkins glow in the soft autumn light. Her mane is wispy and warm, and her tail is nearly hidden behind her.

Orange cats are known for their sunny, friendly personalities, although every cat is different. Many orange cats are male, but females exist too, so this little lioness is perfectly normal. Longhaired kittens like this one need regular gentle brushing, especially as their adult coat grows in, and a soft comb can make grooming a pleasant bonding moment.

Lion mane costumes are a popular choice for pets, since they are light and do not cover the body. Still, a kitten may find the ruff itchy or too warm, so check regularly that she is comfortable and take it off if she shakes her head or scratches. Cats should not be left alone in costumes, and the yard is best explored on a leash or in an enclosed space.

We will call her Lioness Lulu. She is a ferocious hunter of fallen leaves, and a fierce ruler of one small yard. The kingdom is quiet, and the pride is probably inside having snacks.
