A Hairless Sphynx Kitten Is Draped in Halloween Spider Webs

AI imagesphynx kittenspider webhalloween

Wisps of white cobweb drape across her ears, her shoulders and her wrinkled little arms, and a few more strands float in the sunbeam behind her. The pink Sphynx kitten sits on a gray knit blanket with her big ears pricked and amber eyes looking off to the side. Plastic spiders cling to the web decorations on the wall, and a jack-o'-lantern and a blue water bottle glow in the afternoon light behind her.

Sphynx cats have no coat of fur, which means their skin shows every fold and wrinkle. They are known for being warm, outgoing and social, and they often seek out blankets, laps and sunny spots to stay cozy. Their skin can get oily or dirty, so many owners give them occasional baths, and a vet can recommend a routine. They may also need protection from direct sun and from cold.

Fake spider web is a risk with cats of all kinds. The thin, stretchy fibers can wrap around legs or necks, and if swallowed they can cause serious problems. If your kitten becomes tangled, stay calm, hold her still and gently pull the strands away, and call your vet if she swallowed any. Hanging webbing high, out of paw's reach, is the best way to keep the scene spooky and safe.

We will call her Cobweb, and she looks very patient about the whole thing. She is warm, calm and a little puzzled by the sticky threads. A good snuggle will fix everything, and the blanket is right there.
