A Shaggy Tabby Kitten Patrols the Porch in a Tiny Cowboy Hat
Wearing a straw cowboy hat that slips a bit over one ear, a tan leather vest and a brown bandana, a brown tabby kitten sits on a porch step with her eyes fixed on something just out of sight. Her fur is a shaggy swirl of browns, and her paws are tucked in front of her. Behind her, a carved jack-o'-lantern, pumpkins, mums and a welcome mat with leaves decorate the front step, and a few toys and a backpack sit nearby.
Norwegian Forest Cats are sturdy, fluffy cats from cold northern regions, with a thick double coat and strong claws for climbing. They are generally friendly, patient and good with families, though they may be a little reserved at first. Their long fur needs regular brushing, and a vet can help if mats appear. Kittens of this breed are playful and love a tall cat tree.
Cowboy costumes are a fun choice, but vests can be warm for a long-haired cat, so keep wear time short. Check that nothing hangs low enough to catch on her paws or claws, that the bandana is loose and that the hat does not slip over her eyes. If she tries to wiggle out, that is the signal to finish the photo session and offer a favorite treat.
We will call her Dusty, and she is the youngest deputy in the whole town. There is a lot of porch to patrol and a lot of leaves to chase. She seems ready for whatever the evening may bring.
