An Orange Kitten Pops Up Inside the Jack-o'-Lantern

AI imageorange kittenjack-o'-lanternhalloween

Tucked inside a carved pumpkin with a toothy grin, a fluffy ginger kitten peers out over the rim with big, curious eyes. His fur sticks out in tufts, his ears are tilted a bit and his pink nose is just visible. The pumpkin sits on a wooden surface near an open door, and behind it a coat hangs on a hook and a few pairs of shoes line the floor.

Cats love to squeeze into small spaces, and a hollow pumpkin is the perfect size for a kitten. Enclosed spaces make cats feel safe, and a snug fit can be comforting. That is also why a cardboard box, a laundry basket or a paper bag can be so popular. Providing a few safe hiding spots in the house helps shy cats feel secure and gives curious ones a place to watch the world.

A pumpkin is a fun place for a short photo, but it should be fresh, clean and stable so it cannot tip. Never place a lit candle in a pumpkin where a cat could climb in or knock it over, and use a battery light instead. A kitten sitting in a damp pumpkin for long may get cold or dirty, so lift him out and dry him off after the photo.

We will call him Pumpkin Patch, since he fits so well. He is quite pleased with his hideout, and it would take a very good treat to coax him out. For now, he is the best jack-o'-lantern on the block.
