A Silver Tabby Kitten Is the Smallest Dinosaur on the Block
A green dinosaur hood with soft spikes frames a round silver tabby face, and two enormous golden eyes stare out at the world. The kitten sits on a sunny sidewalk with her little paws together, a row of felt spikes running down her back. Behind her, a paper bag, a jack-o'-lantern and a pumpkin sit on a doorstep, and brown leaves are scattered over the pavement. She is the smallest and fluffiest dinosaur in the neighborhood.
British Shorthairs are known for their dense, plush coats, round faces and calm, easygoing personalities. They are usually affectionate without being demanding, and they tend to enjoy a relaxed lap. They grow at a slow pace and are often a bit stocky, so portion control and play are important, and a vet can suggest a healthy diet for any kitten.
A costume can be a bit of fun for a cat, but only briefly. Most cats do not enjoy wearing outfits, and a kitten should never be left alone in one. Choose something light that does not restrict movement, hearing or breathing, let her sniff it first, and take it off if she freezes, flattens her ears or tries to hide. A treat and a quiet cuddle after the photo help her feel safe.
We will call this dinosaur Pebbles. She has no interest in roaring. Her grand entrance consists of sitting very still and being as cute as possible, which, for a dinosaur, is a pretty effective strategy.
