A Boston Terrier Puppy Sits on the Doorstep Dressed as a Pumpkin
The orange costume has quilted segments like a real pumpkin, and a green stem sits on top of the puppy's head. Inside it, a brindle and white Boston Terrier puppy sits and looks straight at the camera with big, dark, round eyes. His pink nose is a little wrinkled and his ears are a bit mismatched. Behind him, a front door with chipped paint, a pot of orange mums, a few small pumpkins and a pair of sneakers sit on the porch.
Boston Terriers are small, friendly and lively dogs, often called the American Gentleman for their tuxedo-like markings. They are affectionate and usually good with families, and they enjoy plenty of play. Their short noses mean they can overheat and snort or snore, so exercise should be gentle in warm weather, and a vet can offer guidance on breathing and eye care.
If your puppy is wearing a costume like this, make sure there is plenty of room around his chest and neck so breathing stays easy. Short-nosed breeds are especially sensitive to tight clothing. Fleece costumes can be warm, so check often for panting, and take the outfit off after photos. A calm moment with a treat teaches him that dress-up is not scary.
We will call him Pumpkin Pete. He is a sweet orange and brown pumpkin with a very honest face. A stem, a smile and a doorstep make a good Halloween, and he is ready to greet each trick-or-treater who comes up the walk.
