A Fluffy Rescue Puppy Sits Calmly in a Tangle of Spider Webs
Strands of white cobweb drape across his head, back and legs, and the tan and white puppy sits very still in the middle of it all with his head turned a little to the side. His fur is soft and fluffy, his pink nose is raised and his brown eyes look off toward something he finds interesting. He sits on a woven doormat, with a rack of jackets and a row of shoes on the left and a small pumpkin on a shelf behind him.
Mixed-breed puppies, including many from shelters and rescues, are often called delightful surprises, since it can be hard to guess their adult size or look. They can be healthy, bright and affectionate companions, and every one has a unique personality. A vet checkup and a gentle routine help a new puppy settle in, and early training and socialization set the stage for a happy dog.
Stretchy fake web is a decoration to hang high and out of reach of pets. The fibers can wrap around legs and necks, and if chewed or swallowed they can cause serious problems. If a puppy gets tangled, stay calm, hold him steady and gently remove the strands, and call your vet if he swallowed any. A dog who is entangled and anxious should be comforted first, with the cleanup coming second.
We will call him Cobb. He looks patient and sweet, and he is waiting calmly for rescue from his web. A little puzzled but unbothered, he is the friendliest spider catch of the season.
