This Kitten Rode in the Pumpkin Wagon Like a Tiny Royal Highness
A wooden wagon is stacked high with orange pumpkins, and perched on top like a little king is a tiny blue-grey British Shorthair kitten. Her round copper eyes look off to the side, her small ears are tilted, and her plush grey coat looks soft as velvet against the bright orange. Behind her a blue door and a pot of golden mums sit on a porch, and the afternoon sun lights the scene.
British Shorthairs are calm, sturdy cats with round faces and dense coats, and even as kittens they have a stately air. Pumpkins make a fun backdrop, but a wagon can tip, so keep it on level ground and hold it steady, and never leave a kitten alone on a pile that can shift. Cats generally should not chew pumpkins or stems, and display pumpkins that have been outside for a while can go moldy. British Shorthairs tend to enjoy being near their people but are not always fond of being carried, so let her choose when to hop down. A calm kitten is happiest when she feels safe.
Smokey looks as if she was crowned by the pumpkin patch itself. She surveys her kingdom, the porch and the pumpkins, without a hint of worry. The wagon ride, evidently, is going smoothly, and she shows no interest in getting down just yet.
