A Black Devon Rex Looks Away From the Scattered Game Pieces

AI imagedevon rexboard gamehallway

A box of colorful game pieces has been scattered across the floor, and the black Devon Rex sitting next to them is looking determinedly the other way. His big ears are tilted, his wavy coat looks like soft velvet, and his gold eyes are on something very far away. Wooden tokens, cards, and dice lie scattered in front of him, and a woven rug and a door frame give the hallway a homey feeling.

Devon Rexes are playful, curious cats with big ears, short wavy coats, and a very strong desire to be involved in everything their people do. They are often described as elfin or pixie-like, and many enjoy climbing, fetching, and learning tricks. Small game pieces are tempting to a cat, since they roll and skitter, but they can also be a choking hazard or cause serious trouble if swallowed. If you think your cat swallowed one, call your vet. Keeping games in closed boxes on a high shelf, and offering your cat puzzle toys and a few tiny balls of his own, can protect both the games and the cat. Their short coats make them feel the cold, so cozy spots are important.

He is looking up at the ceiling now, as if he has never seen the game before. The pieces will be picked up one by one, and some may turn up months from now under the couch.
