The Tiny Maltese Froze Right in the Middle of the Milk Puddle
Milk fans across the wooden floor in a glossy white puddle, and a tiny white Maltese stands in the middle of it, paws wet, eyes round and dark, frozen like a deer in the headlights. The fluffy ears droop at the sides and a few drops glisten on the chin fur. A laundry basket and a towel sit in the soft background. It is hard to say who is more surprised, the milk or the dog.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle, and devoted, with a silky white coat that grows long and needs frequent brushing. That beautiful coat shows every spill, so a quick wipe with a warm, damp cloth after a mess helps prevent tangles. Many dogs love milk, but most adult dogs don't digest lactose very well, so a lot of milk can lead to an upset stomach. Fresh water is always the better choice. Clean up spilled milk quickly, since it can smell sour in a hurry, and since little dogs are prone to slipping, keep floors dry to protect their legs. Talk to your vet about any treat concerns.
The milk will be a cleanup job and the little dog will need a towel, preferably a soft one. As the Maltese stands in her milky puddle, all fluffy and astonished, it's clear she's decided to say nothing at all and let that face do all the explaining.
