A Boston Terrier Looks Anywhere but at the Spilled Kibble
Kibble pours from a torn paper bag and spreads across the floor in a brown cascade, and a black and white Boston Terrier sits beside it looking firmly in the other direction. The big upright ears and the round, dark eyes give the dog a startled look, and the white chest stands out against the dark fur. A basket of blankets and a few slippers sit by the sofa, where the room is bathed in soft light.
Boston Terriers are friendly, bright little dogs with tuxedo markings and big personalities, often nicknamed the American Gentleman. They love company and play, but like many flat-faced breeds, they can overheat and snore, so keep exercise gentle in hot weather. Dogs that get into the food bag can eat far more than they should, and a sudden big meal may lead to an upset tummy or worse, so store food in a sealed container on a high shelf or in a closet. If your dog eats a huge amount, call your vet, especially if the belly looks swollen or the dog seems uncomfortable.
The bag has had better days, but the Boston is calm and composed, hoping that the best strategy is to simply stare into the middle distance. Perhaps nobody will notice the mountain of food at his paws, or the trail of crumbs leading straight to him.
