A Little Schnauzer Became a Tiny Ghost in a Torn Curtain

AI imageminiature schnauzercurtainliving room

A grey, bearded face peeks out from a torn curtain draped over his head like a hood. A salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer named Winston sits in the middle of the living room, eyes wide and eyebrows lifted, wrapped in frayed beige cloth. A basket of laundry sits in the background and a couch fills the corner, and the whole scene looks like a tiny, shaggy wizard at the end of a very strange day.

Miniature Schnauzers are bright, spunky dogs with a built-in sense of mischief. They were originally farm dogs and ratters, which is why they are so alert and quick. They love to be involved in what the family is doing and can be excellent watchdogs. A bored Schnauzer may find his own entertainment, like tugging a curtain until it comes down.

Curtains and blinds can be hazardous for dogs, especially when cords are involved. Dogs may get tangled or pull heavy rods down, so it is best to tie cords out of reach. Provide a sturdy tug toy to satisfy the pulling urge, and give plenty of daily exercise. Their wiry coats also need regular grooming, so check for any fabric threads caught in the fur.

Winston keeps his wide-eyed look, hooded and calm, like a small ghost who has been caught and is trying to look as if that was the plan all along.
