A Rottweiler Looks Up Sweetly Through a Cloud of Kitchen Flour
Flour covers the muzzle of this big Rottweiler like a powder of snow. He looks up with deep brown eyes, a light dusting on his nose and a smear on his chin, while the counter behind him is dotted with flour, eggs and a tipped-over pot. The black and tan coat shines, and his big head is tilted slightly, as though he has just been asked to explain.
Rottweilers are strong, loyal dogs with a calm confidence, and they are known as devoted family companions. They are also smart and eager to please when they are trained with kindness and consistency. Even so, a large dog can reach counters with ease, and anything that smells like baking will draw their attention.
A taste of flour is not usually harmful to dogs, but raw dough is a different story. It can expand in the stomach and produce alcohol as it ferments, which can be serious, so call your vet right away if a dog eats raw bread dough. Baking ingredients like chocolate, raisins and artificial sweeteners are also dangerous. Keep the kitchen closed off while you cook.
This Rottweiler is the picture of a gentle giant who has made a small mistake. He sits among the mess, white nose and all, giving the sweetest look he can manage. There is nothing scary about him at the moment, just a big dog in a cloud of flour.
