The Border Collie Left a Trail of Muddy Prints Across the Bed
The bedspread was white and spotless this morning, and now it is covered in muddy paw prints. A red and white Border Collie sits right in the middle of it, looking up with big brown eyes and a gentle tilt to her head. Her chest is white and her ears are half-folded, and clothes and shoes are scattered around the bedroom behind her.
Border Collies are widely considered among the smartest dog breeds. They are energetic, athletic and eager to work, and they need plenty of exercise and mental challenges every day. A bored Border Collie can become mischievous, and a muddy romp through the yard followed by a leap onto a bed is just the kind of adventure she might invent.
After a muddy walk, a towel by the door and a quick paw wipe can save the sheets. Many dogs benefit from a washable blanket on the bed. Take a moment to check her paws for cuts, thorns or anything stuck between the toes. If she has been in anything chemical, like antifreeze or lawn treatments, call your vet.
This one has the face of an angel. She sits in the middle of all those paw prints as if they appeared by magic. The laundry may be a long task, but she looks so sweet that it is easy to forgive her. She is already waiting to be invited for a walk.
