A Bulldog Lies in the Middle of a Paper Towel Avalanche
Paper towel is spread across the floor in soft, ragged waves, and two empty rolls lie beside a fawn and white Bulldog. The dog looks directly at us with wrinkled brow and droopy jowls, his guilty face in full effect. Behind him a laundry basket, shoes and a tote bag sit by the sunny window.
Bulldogs are known for their stocky build, wrinkled faces and calm, affectionate natures. They tend to be gentle, loyal companions who enjoy lounging with their families. Even so, they can be mischievous, and paper towels offer a soft, shreddable thrill that is hard for any dog to resist.
Eating paper towels can cause an intestinal blockage if the dog swallows a lot of it, so check that none is missing and watch for vomiting, a swollen stomach or loss of appetite. If you are worried, call your vet. Keep rolls in a cupboard, and give him a sturdy chew toy to satisfy the urge to rip. Bulldogs can overheat easily, so keep playtime gentle and cool.
The Bulldog does not look worried about the paper towels. He is lying on the cool floor in the middle of the mess, and he has the quiet dignity of a dog who knows the cleanup is not his job. His sad face is the best defense he has, and it works very well.
